NIC生は、既成概念を打ち破る未来のチェンジメーカーになるためのみならず、彼らがこれから学ぶそれぞれの分野において、歴史を作るという、確固たる意志を持っています。一人の教員として彼らを見たとき、彼らは、才能に溢れた若者たちであり、知的なディスカションに積極的に参加し、困難を受け入れ、限界を越えるために努力を惜しまず、そしてより重要なこととして、どんな状況においてもチームプレーヤーとして、互いを助けようとします。彼らの忍耐力と意欲は私をいつも勇気付けられます。

初めまして。私はアリス・ホーといいます。韓国生まれのアメリカ人で、今年、NIC 大阪校で仕事をするために、アメリカメリーランド州から移住してきました。私は小さい頃から、南北アメリカ、アジアのさまざまな国に住んだ経験を持ちます。個人的な経験からわかることは、文化間の障害に打ち勝つことや、新しい言語を学ぶことは、簡単ではありませんが、間違いなく価値のあることであり、私は未知の事柄を探求したいという夢をもつ野心溢れる若者たちをこれからもサポートしていきたいと考えています。

NIC は、”Thinking out of the box.” すなわち既成の箱を超えて考えるというだけでなく、「完全にその箱を無くしてしまう」という教育をしているところです。学生たちは毎週毎週多くの課題をこなしますが、そこには、彼らが学んだことを”Synthesize” すなわち、統合するための”クリティカルシンキング” を必要とします。

たとえば、TED-Talkのトピックを使って、さらに深いディスカッションをする時には、与えられている情報を分析し、自分の意見を構築するためのリーズニングスキルが求められます。次のステップとして、毎日のタスクとして、アカデミックなレポートを書くと同様に、プロフェッショナルなプレゼンテーションを行います。一連の学習のプロセスが、学生たちにとって忘れることのできない、学びの” 旅” になります。この旅で身についたスキルは、学校だけでなく、卒業後どこにいったとしても役に立つものになります。

新しい言語を学ぶことは、限界のない可能性への扉を開きます。もしあなたが、学ぶことに努力を惜しまないことを約束できるのであれば、NICの経験のある教員たち、スタッフたちが、これらのスキルを身につける手助けをして、さらに上のレベルに引き上げます。自分が夢見る場所に実際に到達している姿をぜひ想像してください。NIC での学びは、あなたの夢を実現するためのチケットとなります。

NIC students are determined to become future change-makers who will not only break stereotypes but also make history in their fields of study. From what I have observed as their teacher, they are talented young scholars who are eager to participate in intellectual discussions, accept challenges, overcome limitations, and most importantly, work as team players to support each other in any situation. Their perseverance and willingness to attain knowledge inspired me.

My name is Alice Huh. I am a Korean-born American, recently moved from Maryland, USA. I also have lived in many foreign countries in South America, North America and Asia since I was young. Knowing from personal experience that overcoming language as well as cultural barriers is not easy but definitely worthwhile, I want every ambitious student who has dreams to explore the unknown allow the NIC family to help them achieve their goals.

NIC provides education that enables students to not just to think outside of the box, but get rid of the box completely. Students complete different projects every week that require critical thinking skills to synthesize what they have learned. In-depth discussions about TED-Talk topics also allow them to develop their reasoning skills and help construct their own opinions based on analysis of the provided information. As the next step, students practice delivering presentations in a professional manner, as well as academic essays as part of their daily tasks. The whole process of learning becomes an unforgettable journey for the students. The skills that they take away will help them succeed in other areas of their life outside of school.

I believe that learning a new language opens a door to the endless possibilities.
