第28期生メッセージ集【東京校編】

“For Those Who Cannot Give Up Your Dream”

Starting with an anecdote of mine, my family moved to China when I was in 7th grade. I attended to a local international school and there I inevitably learned English and exposed to an American education. American education was really apt for me, and I had chances to share my ideas, to acquire various skills, and to be actively involved in student activities. Unfortunately, my family came back to Japan after three years and I couldn’t adapt myself successfully in Japanese educational system as a returnee. Studying abroad, especially in US has been my life long dream, but it entails a colossal amount of money. Even my family saved money and I worked as a part timer, studying abroad was still a fantasy, and I almost relinquished my dream.

It was 2 years ago when I first came across NIC. I attended several different agencies, and NIC was just one of my choices. Among many institutions, NIC is the only one that didn’t belittle my dream of studying in prestigious college in US. Indeed studying abroad via NIC is not an economical choice, but I would say the life in NIC is very fruitful and surpasses its value. Students have opportunities to obtain scholarships, to get involved in student activities and make to priceless, assiduous and benevolent friends. Also, I would guarantee NIC is the best place to polish or start your English learning career. Personally, I felt my English has improved drastically.

Now, I have two goals. First, I want to get rich and help poor students who want to study abroad but financially difficult like I was. I believe everybody, regardless of financial circumstances must have equal access to the higher education.
Third, I want to find my lifelong mission. As some of you may know, American universities can be said as flexible compared to Japanese universities because students can change their majors. I still don’t know what I’m truly interested in and can devote myself in rest of my life, so continuing my education at American university can be said as the best choice.

Speaking out your dream eloquently may sound very baffling and require courage.
However, please don’t forget that chances are scattered around you like the pebbles on a street. It’s up to you to grasp one or just pretends they didn’t exist from the start. Your brave decision may change the world entirely.
